Condo insurance can be complicated. It’s different than homeowners and renters insurance. When you purchase a condo, you typically become part of a condo association, which you will pay a monthly fee for. That fee goes towards the care of the common grounds of the complex. (You won’t have to mow the lawn, landscape or shovel snow.). It is important to note, your complex provides insurance for the exterior of the building only. All interior will be your responsibility in case of damage.This includes; furniture, electronics, and any other personal items.
